The range of hermetic filter driers GVN GCH are used for filtering solid particles, absorbing moisture, and removing acids from liquid refrigerants and POE oils. These unidirectional filters with a solid compact insert consist of 80% molecular sieves and 20% activated alumina. They are designed for use with refrigerants from the HFC and HCFC groups. Available with ODF soldering fittings. The series is recommended for commercial air conditioning and refrigeration, cold chains, precision air conditioning, industrial refrigeration, and retail food trade. GVN dehydrating filters of the GCH series are approved for operation with a maximum working pressure of 45 bar.
The filter driers is installed to protect the HVAC&R system from circulating solid contaminants, moisture, and acids. It prevents blockages of the expansion device by contaminants, formation of ice at the expansion valve orifice, and acid formation by adsorbing moisture from the refrigerant.
The internal construction of the filter drier includes a filtration medium at the inlet to capture contaminants, followed by a moisture and acid desiccant. For thorough purification, an additional filtration layer is provided at the outlet, ensuring filtration down to 20 microns.
Each GVN filter drier is equipped with a clearly marked arrow indicating the installation direction. It is strongly recommended to replace the filter whenever the unit is opened for servicing or after any other component replacement.
